PromptHop is built and run by one person. There is no company, no team, and no third party with access to anything described here beyond the named services below.
All of the following are processed and stored entirely on your own device:
Compression runs locally as plain pattern matching. No part of it calls an external model or service, which is a deliberate design constraint rather than an implementation detail: the moment compression required a server, your conversations would have to leave your machine.
PromptHop writes the following to your browser's local extension storage. You can erase all of it at any time by removing the extension.

Anonymous usage events are sent to Google Analytics. An event records that something happened, never what it contained. The complete list of events is: overlay opened, overlay toggled, popup opened, scope changed, compression mode changed, capture clicked, capture succeeded, capture failed, paste clicked, paste succeeded, paste failed, hop to a tool, keyboard shortcut used, tool enabled, tool disabled, and feedback submitted.
Each event carries only: your anonymous identifier, which AI tool's page you were on, your browser, your country, where in the interface the action came from, and a timestamp.
Capture and paste events additionally carry three things about the size and shape of what was carried across, never about what it said:
That last one is worth being precise about. Your conversation's real identifier appears in the page address, and it is never sent. The list matching each conversation to its number is held on your device and never leaves it. What reaches Analytics is only a small whole number, which cannot be turned back into a conversation by me or by anyone else.
No event has ever carried, and none can carry, the content of your conversation.
To record which country an install is in, PromptHop makes one request to ipapi.co. As with any
request over the internet, that service can see your IP address in the process. PromptHop keeps only the
country name from the response and discards the IP address. It is not stored and it is not sent to
Analytics.
If you submit feedback, the message you typed, and your email address if you chose to provide one, are recorded so I can read and reply to them. The email field is optional. Nothing else is attached.
Data on your device stays until it is overwritten by your next capture, or until you remove the extension, whichever comes first. Analytics events are retained under Google Analytics' own retention settings. Feedback is kept until I have acted on it.
Removing the extension deletes everything it stored on your device. You may also clear the stored conversation at any time from the extension's settings without uninstalling. If you would like the anonymous events associated with your identifier removed, contact me and I will remove them.
PromptHop is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect anything from them.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change and the change will be described here rather than applied quietly.
