1. What this covers

These terms apply to the PromptHop browser extension and this website. Installing or using either means you accept them. If you do not, please do not install it.

2. What PromptHop is

PromptHop is a browser extension that reads a conversation already displayed in your browser, optionally shortens it, and places it into the message box of another AI tool. It runs on your device. It does not host any AI model of its own and does not generate answers.

3. It is free, and there is no account

PromptHop is provided free of charge. There is nothing to buy, no subscription, and no account to create. If that ever changes, existing behaviour will not be altered retroactively without notice on this page.

4. Not affiliated with the AI tools it supports

PromptHop is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Perplexity, or any other provider. Product names are used only to describe compatibility, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.

You remain bound by each AI tool's own terms. Moving a conversation into another tool does not exempt you from that tool's rules, usage limits, or acceptable use policy. If a provider restricts automated interaction with its service, complying with that is your responsibility.

5. Your content is yours

Whatever you capture and carry across stays yours. I claim no ownership or licence over it. As set out in the Privacy Policy, I do not receive it in the first place.

6. Use it responsibly

You agree not to use PromptHop to:

• Move content you have no right to move
• Break the terms of any AI tool, or work around its access controls or limits
• Handle other people's personal or confidential information without a proper basis for doing so
• Do anything unlawful

Think before carrying sensitive material into another tool. PromptHop moves text faithfully; it cannot know whether the destination is an appropriate place for it.

7. Compression changes the text

Smart Compact rewrites wording without dropping any message. Key Highlights goes further and deliberately condenses older parts of a conversation, which means detail is removed on purpose. Both are automated and neither can guarantee that every nuance survives. Where exact wording matters, use the uncompressed option and check what was carried across before you rely on it.

8. No warranty

PromptHop is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. AI tools change their pages frequently, and a change can stop capture or paste from working until the extension is updated. I do not promise that it will always work, always be available, or always be free of faults.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from using PromptHop, including lost data, lost work, or anything that follows from content being carried across incorrectly or incompletely. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Availability and changes

Features may change, and support for a given AI tool may be added or withdrawn. Material changes to these terms will be reflected in the date above.

11. Ending your use

Uninstall the extension at any time. Everything it stored on your device is removed with it.
